Earthdog Seminar for Handlers and Judges

Puget Sound Earthdog Club is proud to host an AKC Earthdog Seminar for Judges & Handlers on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the Talking Cedar in Grand Mound, WA. The seminar will provide a detailed review and explanation of the regulations and guidelines for Earthdog tests so that participants have a better understanding of all performance requirements and standards. These seminars are few and far between, so you won't want to miss this one. The seminar will be followed by two days of Earthdog tests nearby at the Lake residence in Rochester, WA.

This seminar is very useful for people fairly new to Earthdog who want to learn more about the tests as well as those who are thinking about becoming an Earthdog judge. And of course, it is great for those of us longtime Earthdoggers as a refresher on the rules.

The seminar will be presented by Jo Ann Frier-Murza, the AKC Field Representative for Earthdog. Jo Ann has been active in Terrier and Dachshund den trials since 1972. In 1993 she worked with AKC to establish the sport of Earthdog and has hosted and judged numerous tests. She authored the book Earthdog Ins & Outs, 2nd Ed.

This seminar is a classroom presentation and discussion followed optionally by the judge’s test. Anyone who attends the seminar can take the test; there is no additional charge.

A buffet lunch, coffee, and water will be provided. Free parking at the seminar site is available.

We will not be working any dogs at the seminar. There will be a Friday evening Earthdog practice at our nearby Earthdog test site less than 10 minutes away as well as two days of Earthdog tests to follow.

$60 before April 24, $75 after that date. Price includes buffet lunch with coffee.
